TEEN CHOICE 2012 MEDIA ALERT

FOX and TEEN CHOICE 2012 encourage teens to choose green with the 2nd Annual Energy Playground!

Monday, July 16 from 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Event: FOX’s 2nd Annual TEEN CHOICE Energy Playground

Time: 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM Interviews with Kevin McHale (Artie on GLEE), co-host of TEEN CHOICE 2012 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM Interviews Global Inheritance representatives

Location: Hollywood & Highland Complex Central Courtyard

Description: For the second year in a row, FOX and the THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS are encouraging teens to do their part for our planet and go green! Keeping in line with our GREEN IT. MEAN IT. campaign, Fox Broadcasting Company has partnered with Global Inheritance to construct an energy playground where participants will not only learn more about what they can do to be eco-friendly, but can hop on a bike, swing, see-saw or wheel and generate some clean energy themselves! On Monday, July 16, both amateur and experienced riders will pedal 16 bikes hooked up to Global Inheritance’s "Tour de Energy" bike station to produce kinetic energy that is converted to electricity and pumped back into the grid. The site will also feature the Energy Playground which includes Energy Swings, Energy See-saws and Human Hamster Wheels as well as fun activities for all ages including t-shirt making, a Sno-Cone machine and a raffle! All of the energy for the event will be generated by riders, making it a totally carbon neutral event!

This innovative energy event, which is open to the public, will be a fun new and interactive way to get visitors and teens involved in thinking differently about our environment, promoting the show, enjoying the outdoors and creating clean energy. The riders that generate the most power throughout the day will win a TEEN CHOICE 2012 Swag Bag full of fun items from a variety of shows and all participants are eligible to win additional FOX and TEEN CHOICE 2012 prizes!

Press Opps: TEEN CHOICE 2012 co-host Kevin McHale, who plays "Artie" on the FOX hit series, GLEE will be on-site on Monday, July 16 for interviews and to tease what to expect from this year's broadcast. In addition, representatives from Global Inheritance will be on-site to talk about the energy playground technology and how TEEN CHOICE 2012 is continuing its mission to be the greenest event of the summer!

Submit Videos Now at www.teenchoiceawards.com/video.aspx

Music sensation and TEEN CHOICE 2012 nominee Carly Rae Jepsen will perform her hit song "Call Me Maybe" – with a little help from her fans – at TEEN CHOICE 2012, airing live Sunday, July 22 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX!

"It's been a dream of mine to attend the TEEN CHOICE Awards for years," Jepsen said. "To perform and be nominated is such an honor. I'm looking forward to sharing this amazing night with the fans and friends who got me there!"

Jepsen is an international music sensation due, in part, to the unofficial lip-synched viral videos of "Call Me Maybe," featuring fans from around the world, including Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, Katy Perry and James Franco, not to mention the Harvard Baseball team and the SMU Women's Rowing team.

Now, fans could have their very own "Call Me Maybe" lip-synched videos appear during Jepsen's live performance at TEEN CHOICE 2012.

Fans can submit their videos by: (1) creating an original "Call Me Maybe" lip-synched video; (2) uploading it to YouTube; and (3) registering at www.teenchoiceawards.com. Once fans register, final submission details and rules will be sent via email.

Jepsen is currently riding high with the blockbuster success of her platinum-certified debut U.S. single, "Call Me Maybe," which has sold more than two million copies and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Certified quadruple-platinum in Jepsen's native Canada, the track, which she co-wrote, is also an international sensation, climbing to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Norway. Jepsen will release her debut album this fall and hit the road as a very special guest on Bieber's 2012 North American tour.

TEEN CHOICE 2012 is executive-produced by Bob Bain ("Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards") and Michael Burg. Paul Flattery and Kelly Brock serve as producers and Greg Sills serves as supervising producer.
