In 1999 Britney Spears walked on stage and welcomed everyone to the very first awards chosen by and for teens - "your choice, your voice."

Since then, hundreds of surfboards (yes they're real surfboards!) have been awarded to your favorites in movies, music, tv, sports, fashion and more... And some stars even use them to surf (like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Aaron Carter. Serena & Venus Williams and Zac Efron).

The TC Surfboard is often the first ever Show Business award for our stars, it was for Jennifer Lopez (1999), Jessica Simpson, (2000) Ashanti (2002), Ashton Kutcher, Kelly Clarkson and Colin Farrell (2003) and Jon "Napoleon Dynamite" Heder (2005). Who will it be the first for this year? Maybe Gossip Girl and its cast who have 14 nominations between them. Or the Jonas Brothers who have five nominations? There's always some sort of "first" on every show so don't miss out!
